Global Political Discussion

Governments Exposed is a global discussion of everything political and/or political implication. From politics themselves to the impact political decision makes within our lives. Trolls won't be tolerated.

Everyone has something good or bad to discuss surrounding politics, as it affects every living human being daily. From the state of your roads, water, environment, housing, benefits, voting, employment, education and well.... you get the idea!.

Governments Exposed is for all levels of discussion, from the smart and intimidating to consumer gripe surrounding poor local emergency services. I definitely plan on learning from those much smarter than myself, and just remember, nobody knows everything, so be heard and listen at the same time please.

AWU Push for Portable Long Service Leave

Now this has to be a pretty stupid suggestion from the AWU to introduce this because society decided to change their working habits and not choose to work at the one company for 10 years straight in order to obtain long service entitlements, typically 60 days paid leave which usually includes weekends. Long service is typically a 15 year entitlement at 90 days straight paid leave, though employee's can usually apply for it pro-rata at the 10 years mark.

Swann Used Typical Labour Talk "Recession"

I was watching the Sunday morning political discussion on TV whilst on holidays, and sure as shit I near fell off my chair when I hear the typical words of Labour come through from Wayne Swann, "If inflation rises then we may need to have a recession." I couldn't believe what my ears where hearing. Honestly, Australian inflation is at 3%, which is the correct economical figure. It has fluctuated between 3% and 4% for years now, being the exact and ultimate place you want inflation to be.

Kevin Rudd Lies Already on Election Promises - Only Took One Week

As I had pointed out in my story about Australia ratifying the Kyoto agreement, one of Kevin Rudd's election promises to the nation; well he has already done exactly what I knew he would have too, being he lied to Australia and never disclosed the full consequences to the public. He could never have met the targets he promised in his election announcements because Australia is over 95% coal powered. You don't just change that in a decade, in fact you would be hard pressed to make a significant impact on that over two decades.

Swann Already Acting Stupidly

The new treasurer, Wayne Swann, is already acting like an idiot with little scope nor foresight to the future of Australia's economy. He announced today that he is looking for ways to cut budgets, save money. So he is looking at defence and other areas to slash, most Government agencies will be cut at some point I can see. The reason why he is doing this now is because of the ratification to Kyoto, which means we have just committed to increased fuel, power and grocery prices post Kyoto due to carbon ticket purchases to burn Co2.

Australia Ratifies Kyoto

Ok, so Kevin Rudd has done what he said and ratified Kyoto. Now what? Well, what he has done is great and definitely a step towards a brighter future. The problems now lay though that Kevin has no prior implementation of planning to help Australia reduce its carbon emissions, especially considering we are 95% fuelled by coal, all of which is our greatest export at the same time.

USA's Method For Population Control - World War III

It seems the stupid USA has nothing better to do than create conflict, all towards aiming for the ultimate population control method, WWIII. WWI and WWII achieved this aim, kept the population in a more sustainable control as obviously we just couldn't all exist in harmony.

ACTU Already Flexing Muscle

Didn't take long for the ACTU to be back in business with Labor's election win. The unions are already telling employers they should be setting up meetings with the ACTU to discuss going back under a union umbrella. Well, even though Work Choices is out because the Coalition implemented it all wrong, it doesn't mean an employer must turn to a union either. Employers need to take their rights and begin operating individually without allowing unions in their door. The worst thing Government and major public companies can do for Australia is to allow unions back into the work place door.

Same Sex Relationship Entitlements Mirror Marriage Rights in Victoria

John Brumby has posed a change in laws which also benefits same sex couples within the state of Victoria. Does that mean other states will follow? Nobody knows just yet, though it may simply mean same sex couples all move to Victoria and we have a state with majority of gay couples. Each to their own I say.

Where Did Johnny Go Wrong?

Well, the simple answer is he and the Coalition became complacent: Work Choices.

Work Choices was a very good decision to implement into Australia. The only thing wrong was how they implemented it. When the Coalition got control of the senate, that is where things went pear shape. Johnny rushed through a major ordeal that needed much more scrutiny and eyes to view upon it.

The Unions Are Back Already

Good old Kevin Rudd has already began the implementation of the Unions back into the working environment. This means we go back to public transport strikes, hospital strikes, and you name it.... all bad. The very high ranking Union leaders Kevin himself sacked for disorderly conduct within the Unions during his campaign time; are now requested by the very people who agreed to sack them too now return to the Labor Union as Kevin has won the Prime Minister position.

Labor Wins - Kevin Rudd New Prime Minister of Australia

Well the percentage was over 6% swing to Labor with Howard even losing his own local seat along with the Prime Minister role. Peter Costello announced his retirement from politics also, instead off opting to take control and run as the leading candidate for PM for the Coalition.

Kevin Rudd Summation From You Tube

I really have to credit this video done, Kevin Rudd being highlighted for the true next George W Bush impersonator. The man has no real idea how to run the country, he is a face that they branded throughout the web which immediately appealed to the younger audience of voters. They made catchy shirts and "Kevin07" logo's. Its all branding, no politics though. The majority of his whopping $20+ million campaign funding was all from the Unions. Who does that mean is running the country once again? Not Kevin Rudd.... the Unions.

Employment Whingers Need to Look Inwards

I sit and read the Herald Sun daily, here in Melbourne, and it absolutely amazes me at the amount of people whinging how they are somehow hard done through signing an Australian Workplace Agreement (AWA) when I also read the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) watch on wages from the Australian Bereau of Statistics now showing the average weekly wage at $1103, which is a 5% rise in the last 12 months. Now considering inflation is managed to consist constantly around the 3% mark per annum, that is a pretty decent overall rise in wages.

Political Cartoons

I must say that when I typically read the daily paper, one of my favourites is reading the business cartoons focused usually around what industry / politics is doing on any given day. Some of my favourites are:

Australian Inflation

Are Environmentalist Against Growth?

Posting this video may strike debate, not real sure, but its about the environmentalist movement and whether or not environmentalists at a core level are simply against growth. Do environmentalists want people to merely forever remain as peasants to some slave leader? Are they against the world growing into a stronger and more formidable opponent! I understand that growth does damage, though growth also does good through employment.

Bush Has a Sense of Humour

Kinda makes me laugh that the man can make fun of himself.... no... really, he actually is making fun of himself. The man has no sense of what the hell he should be doing in that job IMHO. Apparently old George has just got his groove together, all when its to late. Maybe the puppet masters have to now concentrate on the new soon to be boss! Watch this video and work it out for yourself.... I must give him credit though to pull the piss out of himself is pretty ballsy and all.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) 25% Safer Than Without

Just watching the evening news on channel ten, and they stated that vehicles with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) are 25% less likely to lose control, which is a massive figure based on a year of statistics tracking vehicles with ESC. ESC has been in the USA for longer than Australia, though the statistics demonstrate that if overnight every vehicle here was fitted with ESC the death rate from car accidents would be reduced by over 200 fatalities annually, and near 2000 serious injuries per annum.

Australian Economy Booming - Work Choices Provides Stability

I just cannot figure this one out really, in that whilst Labor leader Kevin Rudd currently has a margin around 10 point over John Howard for preferred Prime Minister in the coming weeks election, the facts still dictate that the Liberal party has completely overhauled the Australian economy as a global player. When Labor was last in power they completely destroyed the economy, interest rates were booming high, the common worker they so fundamentally state they are all for, got screwed to the wall from the Labor party.

Who Will Win The Next US Election?

Australian Federal Election Looming - 1 Week Out

Well, we're about to go too the polls once again, though this time it looks certain government will be changing. I am a Liberal supporter myself, though I listen to all policies and vote appropriately based on that. I have not always voted Liberal, because they simply have not always had the best policies.

Labor is pretty much conclusive to win from current polls, although that is never definitive until election day itself and the votes are counted. Who they poll and who actually changes their mind, makes up their mind or simply swings carefree is never truly known.
