ACTU Already Flexing Muscle
Didn't take long for the ACTU to be back in business with Labor's election win. The unions are already telling employers they should be setting up meetings with the ACTU to discuss going back under a union umbrella. Well, even though Work Choices is out because the Coalition implemented it all wrong, it doesn't mean an employer must turn to a union either. Employers need to take their rights and begin operating individually without allowing unions in their door. The worst thing Government and major public companies can do for Australia is to allow unions back into the work place door.
This means we will have telco strikes, public transport strikes, road workers strikes, and the list just goes on. Basically, the unions idea is to get a foot in the door, collect their union fee's from every employer once again, then push an employer until that employer is either broke or they simply have to increase prices so much that the consumer once again feels the heavy pinch on their wallets; all whilst unbeknownst to most the funds return to the unions.
The Labor organisation as current leadership automatically forces all Government agencies into being union oriented, no choice in the matter, which is most of the public facilities and daily rights we enjoy. With that sort of power to then force the very same Government employee's to strike for whatever conditions, they create a chaotic event that forces more funds to the union movement. What this means then, the Government over pays employee's, thus driving up taxes, unemployment, country debt and so forth, which then spirals to increased interest rates, higher prices on everything basic to live, and well.... the unions get fatter, the country gets poorer and we then vote out the Labor party and want change once again.
The Coalition comes in, changes it all to a more focused approach, get the country out of debt and moving forward, they become complacent though, the younger generation comes through once again wanting change from a reactive Government (Labor) and so the cycle begins once again.
Why not just shutdown the Unions all together, get rid of them, and employers base employee's rights and pay based on a minimum the Government sets, allowing employee's to up that and increase rights based on performance models instead of just give me, give me, give me selfish employee and union methods.
When the employer goes down because of union or employee selfish acts, then everyone surrounding the employer is out of work. This is the Labor movement people, and I do hope the younger generation who voted this back in realise just what they are in for.
