Australia Ratifies Kyoto

Ok, so Kevin Rudd has done what he said and ratified Kyoto. Now what? Well, what he has done is great and definitely a step towards a brighter future. The problems now lay though that Kevin has no prior implementation of planning to help Australia reduce its carbon emissions, especially considering we are 95% fuelled by coal, all of which is our greatest export at the same time.

Jobs will be lost, prices will increase further now due to carbon tickets having to be purchased and excess use fined. This means the consumer will pay the cost. Regardless that Kevin has done this, and it is a good thing, though he stood toe to toe with John Howard against nuclear power, yet now he is faced by the very same issue; how does he reduce Australia's carbon emissions without turning off the coal fired power stations and turning to the majority of power becoming nuclear which brings superior reduction in Co2 emissions? How indeed Kevin07?

He either comes up with a way that we simply stop using power! OK, that's not effective nor will it every occur. That means he must soon standup and tell Australia that he lied to them, and that he must now effectively build nuclear plants to power the majority of Australia and stop using so much coal.

Wow... so what happens then to the 20,000+ coal mining jobs then? I guess some of them must now become unemployed because we have to lower our coal burning in order to meet the Kyoto targets without severe punishment. Like what the hell is the point of ratifying Kyoto if we are not serious about aiming for its set target emission reductions after all?

A good move Kevin... just deceptive to lie too the Australian public being the exact thing you said John Howard was doing. Hmmmm..... smells like politics to me! John never lied to the nation, he simply didn't put it the right way. You said he lied, now you have to do the very things he proposed that the public tossed back at him and you backed the public.

What shall you do now Kevin is the question? I guess you're going to have to bullshit the Australian public like all Labor leaders, pretty much all politicians actually, and fess up that you do have to endorse the building of nuclear reactors to take over powering Australian cities in conjunction with the limited and expensive environmental options we already have pumping into the grid.

Your move Kevin07! I somehow don't think its all that easy as maybe you thought Kevin. You state that Australia is already trying to balance an inflated economy, which we are from China and India pumping so much money into us, however; with interest rates already high trying to stabilize the economy at present, you have just committed every household to higher weekly budget with carbon tickets. I don't disagree that we had to stepup and ratify Kyoto, good move; I do disagree though that you did it without first standing up and admitting that we must build nuclear power first to help balance the economy and impact ratifying Kyoto will have. Now you plan to bullshit the public that the ratification caused the increase, yet you knew to begin with that it would, simply forgot to put that in your election speech and promises.
