Kevin Rudd Lies Already on Election Promises - Only Took One Week

As I had pointed out in my story about Australia ratifying the Kyoto agreement, one of Kevin Rudd's election promises to the nation; well he has already done exactly what I knew he would have too, being he lied to Australia and never disclosed the full consequences to the public. He could never have met the targets he promised in his election announcements because Australia is over 95% coal powered. You don't just change that in a decade, in fact you would be hard pressed to make a significant impact on that over two decades.

The facts are that Kevin Rudds decision to sign the Kyoto agreement was nothing short of stupidity at this present time, in that there are no alternatives in the making to significantly change the impact on climate change, that is other than to now charge higher prices due to carbon tickets being applied to electricity, fuel, etc. That means food increases around 15%, electricity the same and so forth across the board all due to where carbon tickets will be required by any manufacturer / supplier that requires to pollute the environment along the way. Basically, that is nearly every single thing you buy today. If you walk into a store that uses electricity, then the price increase of that electricity will be shared onto the price of the good. Transport to get the goods to the store will typically require fuel, which also has a carbon tax upon it. You get the picture obviously.

The only way for Australia to significantly reduce its overall pollution is to move to Nuclear power, as there is insufficient water or wind farm possibilities in Australia to produce enough environmentally friendly electricity to supply the demand. Now if people simply are happy to turn off their televisions, DVD's, computers and so on permanently, then we may meet the targets, otherwise, not a chance in hell. Are the consumers going to do this? Not a chance in hell either. Instead they will blame Kevin Rudd, just as Kevin Rudd attempted to blame John Howard, just as John Howard told Australia the truth, being if we wanted to ratify the Kyoto agreement we needed to adopt a more sustainable energy source, being Nuclear power.

Sorry Australia, but you just cannot have your cake and eat it as well. Life doesn't work that way. You cannot deny Nuclear energy for solar, wind or water, as the expense to create it firstly outweighs the cost to the consumer once again. Next you have the problem of available areas in which to place such methods, all of which will not produce enough to power the nation regardless. So that leaves Nuclear or Coal powered stations. We already do coal, which is not environmentally friendly for global warming. Nuclear is global warming friendly, though brings other associated problems.

Australia, stop humming and harring about this and make a damn informed decision. You either want nuclear energy power stations which will reduce Australia's global warming aspect, meet Kyoto targets and reduce Australia paying fines for not meeting these targets; being the consumer pays the fines really; or you suck it up, you pay the excessive costs which will increase due to the fact that we will never meet the global warming emissions targets because Australia is primarily coal powered. Make a decision.... Kevin Rudd lied, John Howard told you the truth and you shot him down for it. Now you have a liar making, being Labor, the reactive government.
